Have you ever wanted to make money playing video games? I used to think this was only possible for the tiny percent of elite gamers out there, but it’s not. Anyone can make money in their spare time playing many of the games you already know and love. Below are 5 ways to make money playing video games in your spare time.
1. Game Tester
I bet you have heard of Swagbucks before, and I’m betting you also knew you could make money by watching videos, but did you know you could make money playing video games? Swagbucks is completely free and they will give you $5 just for signing up. Do you get anything extra for signing up through my link? Unfortunately you don’t, but I will be grateful as I do receive affiliate income that can go towards next months income reports. Regardless of how you get there, try it out and let me know how it goes!
The downside to going this route is you don’t really get to pick your favorite games like you do in some of the other items listed below. Frankly, it can be quite boring searching for bugs and what not, but you have nothing to lose and you might just find a game you enjoy testing.
2. Farming Gold
Have you ever been playing an online MMORPG such as World of Warcraft and noticed some players just never run out of gold? How can they possibly run around wasting resources constantly but still have plenty of gold? Guess what? There’s a high probability they are purchasing gold from a gold farmer to keep up with their lavish spending. Here’s where you come in. While they’re throwing money at the game to boost their character and trying to increase the size of their e-penis, you could be reaping the rewards and growing your stock pile of game gold and selling it for real cash! Don’t take my word for it, check it out for yourself at one of the largest online trading platforms and make some extra cash this weekend!
Now some games do ban this type of activity, and by doing so you could be risking your account. Make sure to do your research ahead of time and make sure the game you’re farming gold on allows this type of activity.
3. Selling Game Accounts
Okay so you’ve been farming for months now and selling gold. You have 1-3 characters fully leveled. Why not sell one or all of these accounts and start over? Not only will it provide you with additional profit, but it can make the games you play more enjoyable when you start a new character for the first time. I once sold an account for $550 on playerauctions after playing and farming with it for 3 months. Now that’s not a ton of money for the hours I put in, but I was playing the game regardless. Might as well cash in on all that time wasted. I’ve seen accounts sell for as little as $50 and as high as $5,000. The sky is the limit and it all depends on how much time you put into the character.
Some people hate the gold selling route or the risk involved. Instead, they choose to stock pile tons of gold, then sell the entire account with all gear and gold on it at a premium.
Do you enjoy playing online games but don’t like the amount of money wasted on monthly fees, or perhaps you hate the fact that you’re wasting so much time and not making any money? If so, power leveling just might be what you’re looking for. Power leveling is when someone else pays you to level their character for them. Most of the time these are veteran players who want to try out a new character but don’t want to spend the countless hours spent leveling a new character themselves. This is a win win scenario and one of my personal favorites. You can make $200-500 leveling a character in many of the online games. It’s not just leveling either, sometimes people will pay you to farm gold or items for them. This reduces their risk of buying from a gold farmer and you win because you don’t have to pay a monthly fee to play.
5. You Tube Monetization
Once you’ve been farming for a while, you’re going to know how to do every little thing in the game. You’ll know all the sweet spots for finding rare items and maximizing your gold farming or dungeon runs. You can further monetize by creating tutorials and showcasing them on You Tube. In order to be successful at this, you will need to really know the game inside and out. You’re playing already, so you might as well go the extra mile and build your you tube channel for further monetization.
Making money with video games is not only for the elite gamers out there. You too have many options available, and are only limited by your imagination. So the next time your significant other is trying to pry you away from the computer, remind them you’re making extra cash to better your future.
